♦Pamper My Closet♦

It's that time of year....the summer is coming to a reluctant end, days are getting shorter, nights are getting cooler and the smell of Pumpkin Spice Latte's are in the air.  One of my favorite parts of the change of season is clearing out my sandy summer threads and getting the boots, sweaters and scarves out of my vacuum sealed bags.

In this weeks post is about what I call closet pampering!  You may be thinking, what the heck is that?  Well - I'll tell you.  Here at Pamper My Style, we strive to make every corner of your life filled with more love, care and attention.  That means making something even as menial as choosing your outfit in the morning a pleasent and pampered experience.  So, come along with me as I share with you some of my favorite closet pampering touches and learn how you can wake up and be excited about the start of your day!

Recently, our Pampered team took a trip to West Hartford Center, CT with Lisa Woodingham of Kimberly Boutique.  Here she  gives us her tips on how she likes to pamper her closet:

The most essential part of pampering any space, in my opinion, is the scent.  Smell is one of the most dynamic and intense senses that we have as humans and surrounding yourself with pleasant scents that nurture your soul is of the upmost importance.

I have such vivid memories of being a young girl and smelling tearose lotion on my grandmothers skin when she held me close.  To this day, it is an aroma that I absolutley love and try to infuse it anywhere I can in my life.

I found these beautiful tea rose satchels from Lichen-Z Farm.  They have wonderful scents like Lavender, Chocolate and Pumpkin Spice - so pick a satchel that speaks to you and place it somewhere in your closet.  Every time you open the door, the scent will linger and you will smile (promise!).  It will also lightly infuse your clothes with the scent of your choice and allow you to carry it with you throughout the day!

Tea Rose Satchel, Available at Lichen-Z Farm ($3.49)

To piggy back off of what Lisa says above - I couldn't agree more....Organize, Organize, Organize!  A neat and tidy closet makes your mornings easy and getting ready a breeze.

Of course, NO WIRE HANGERS, ladies! Check out some of these great hanger options.

Bamboo Hangers, Available at Only Hangers (Starting at $61.95 / 25pcs)

Real Simple Hangers, Available at Bed Bath and Beyond ($9.99 / 12 pieces)

Then there is always the question of what to wear.  Here are some of my favorite looks for fall, courtesy of the Pamper My Closet board on Pinterest:

Polyvore is a wonderful resource for putting fun and in-style fall outfits together.  You can buy just the piece, or get the whole look.  It's really a great resource!

I find it best to buy 3-4 quality staple piece, non-trendy, good quality and pamper yourself with pieces that will never go out of style.

Then, have some fun with it!  Buy a great scarf, fun pair of flats and - of course- some great jewelry!  You will have the staple pieces for a long time and the fun stuff will keep your look modern and stylish.  I love InterMix for the trendy threads and a classic like Bergdorf Goodman for the staples.

Most of all, have fun with you style and don't take it too seriously!  Your wardrobe should be reflective of who you are and who you want to be.  It should be a scrapbook of your travels, a collection of memories you hold dear.

If you want to find out how to pamper a specific area of your life, let me know!  E-mail me: Pam@pampermystyle.com and last but not least "Don't forget to pamper yourself!"

Happy September!!!

♦Pamper My Show ♦

We have been busy little ladybugs here at Pamper My Style!  This past week was the NYIGF, one of the country's largest trade shows for the best and brightest in all things home and design.  I saw so much that I loved I am not sure how to fit it in to one blog post....so, we made a video!

Come along with me as I hear how Ann Fontaine, of Adri and Hillary Thomas of Hillary Thomas Designs like to pamper their lives.  Then, I feature some of my favorite items and you'll find out more about the luxury gift sets I plan to curate so you can taste a slice of the pampered life.

When starting Pamper My Style, a lot of friends asked me how I planned on bringing a slice of pamper to peoples lives.  After a lot of brainstorming we thought up the idea of luxury gift sets.  So, as I strolled the aisles of the gift show I was looking to curate the perfect collection of products for every corner of life.

Below are some of my favorite finds we are looking to feature in our gift sets (coming soon).

Pamper My Picnic

Hey Pamper Proteges!

We here at Pamper My Style want to inspire you to pamper all areas of your life.  With the guidance of lifestylist, Pam Pollak - we want to share with you the little tips, tricks and products on how to live life luxuriously.  So, make yourself a cup of your favorite tea, sit back and relax as we journey into the world of all things pampered.

◆Pamper My Picnic

With my birthday fast approaching, I have been trying to decide the perfect way to spend my special day.  With a summer birthday, I have always associated my special day with time at the beach.  So, this year I thought it would be great to have a beach picnic with some of my closest friends.  The perfect beach picnic requires a good amount of planning so here are some of my favorite tips and products that can help you create your very own perfectly pampered scene.

...............

Pick out a picnic basket that makes your heart melt! You will have it for a lifetime and it will inspire you to take that beautiful walk in the park or have a romantic evening in your own backyard.

Here is my picnic basket! I picked it up from English Country Antiques out in The Hamptons about 20 years ago (unfortunately, they no longer carry it).  It has served me and my family well and every summer when I get out of my pantry the memories flood back of all the good times spent around it.

The perfect basket should have four place settings, a color scheme that speaks to you, good silverware and quality fabric napkins.

One of my favorite picnic basket has to be this beauty from Williams-Sonoma.  It's on the higher end; but as I mentioned above - this is a purchase you hope to have for a lifetime, so pamper yourself and spend the extra change.

Wicker Picnic Basket, Available at Williams-Sonoma ($349.95)

We found a great post by Refinery29 on the chic-est baskets on the market.  The Pioneer Basket from Chef's Catalog has a great "Ivy League" feel that is perfect for a fall picnic.

...............

These fun accessories will add a pampered touch to any picnic.

I found these wine stands while researching this post and immediately thought "genius!"

..............

This great tray from Uncommon Grounds solves the ever-present problem of serving beachside wine and cheese without the sand "seasoning".
Kudos to the Martha Stewart blog for the tip!

Bamboo Wine Table, Available at Uncommon Goods ($22.00)

Having a picnic for just two (wink, wink!)?  Here is a rustic chic look at how to hold your glasses to avoid the beach curse of sandy wine.

......................

Now for the practical tips!

For years I always thought paper towels were a must at any picnic.  Then I found these beauties on Etsy and fell in love!

What a wonderful green alternative to the ever-present paper good in all our homes.

Tupperware® makes wonderful small containers that will help you keep the bugs out and pack everything tight and spill proof.  Some baskets come with these type of containers already in them, but these are helpful for extra sides and accoutrements.

Speaking of little creepy-crawlers, bugspray may remind you of sticky legs and smelly boys at camp, but it is a MUST for any evening picnic planning.  Here is a solution that will keep the mosquitos away without all the mess.

Another must for keeping the bugs at bay are citronella candles.  Of course, we can all pick up some OFF® brand solutions in a pinch.  But, why not stock beautiful alternatives like these made to order citronella candles for the next outdoor summer gathering.

Of course, there is the food!  What's a picnic without a little palette pampering?
Well, for this we decided to keep it local with advice from one of my favorite fellow Hamptoners and a few of her Food Network friends.

Ina, I put this section in your capable hands and refer you to this amazing list of picnic recipes. Oh, and when in doubt, there is always Citerella or your local gourmet-to-go shop for easy food prep (but, lets keep this our little secret!).

Last but not least is the music.  SO important and something so many people miss.
I recently picked up a wireless Bose speaker and it has changed my outdoor summer experience!  The wonderful sound quality and ease of bluetooth technology keeps any party going.  It's wireless, rechargable and the battery lasts up to 8 hours!  My boys were very impressed with my technological savvy (cool mom points!) and they take it to their surf outings all the time.

Soundlink, Available at Bose ($349.95)

Not sure what to play?  Check out this great article in NYMagazine of top summer playlists

Whew, that was quite the task!  But, I am hoping that our hard work here at Pamper My Style serves you well and you find these tips and tricks helpful in creating that perfect picnic experience.  Please let us know what you liked, what you loved and what you need more information on.
